MANILA, Philippines – As trite as it may seem, the love month apparently does bring out the romantic in almost everyone, including your favorite stars.
Caught by the love bug are sweethearts, John Prats and Rachelle Ann Go, who just recently admitted to their public that--as the public already speculated--they're, indeed, already an item. And with Cupid's arrow still lodged deeply in his crazy little heart, Prats went on to declare ever so boldly that Go is "the one."
"Ang intensiyon ko kay Shin [his term of endearment for Go] ay seryoso talaga," he asserted in an interview with "SNN."
Prats had always been only too ready to announce the world the crux of his love life. He was like that when he was linked to actress Shaina Magdayao, actor John Lloyd Cruz’s current girlfriend, which made the actress--as evidenced in past interviews--a bit dodgy about the whole affair. Today, many still surmise that Prats' unabashed love declarations probably contributed to their quick break up.
But Prats has apparently moved on, showing off Go during the recent premier of the horror film,“Bulong,” where he is a co-star.
In the same interview, Prats revealed that he had a hard time convincing Go of his amorous avowal. But in the end, he said it was all worth it. “Kasi gusto ko, siya na. Dapat talaga,” he said.
No doubt, Prats is very much happy with his newest girlfriend. “Maasikaso siya. Siya ang bukod tanging babae na nagluto para sa akin,” said he.
Thankfully, Go only has good words for Prats. “Lagi niya akong napapasaya," she said.
"Masaya kasama, kausap. Napakasimpleng tao lang. Walang yabang sa katawan. Napakatotoong tao. Very sincere and ‘yon nga, mapagmahal talaga sa family. Napakasarap isipin na may ganoong klaseng lalaki,” she added.
Sounding and looking very much in the thick, one would think the two would only be too eager to spend Heart's Day together... but no.
According to Prats, though they originally intended to spend it together, and in Singapore no less, he was recently picked up to host the noontime show, “Happy Yippe Yehey” on ABS-CBN.
"Pero tuloy pa rin siya [sa Singapore]," said he of Go.
Prats made sure Go will not be without company, even asking his family to accompany her when he couldn't.
Cupid might’ve done a good job in joining Prats' and Go’s hearts but his magic apparently didn’t work too well for TV-radio host Pinky Webb and actor Edu Manzano.
Webb cleared on Friday that she and Manzano did not reconcile as had been wildly speculated on by the media. She insisted, however, that she would always be friends with Manzano.
"Basta kami, magkaibigan pa rin kami. I don't think that will ever change," she affirmed in the press conference for "UKG."
Webb and Manzano, sweethearts for five years, were said to have been set to marry in 2009. The plan had been ditched in lieu of Manzano’s abrupt craving for the vice-presidential post, which he supposedly made secret to the former, thus leading to their break-up.
Is Webb closing the doors of her heart permanently for Manzano?
As most girls are won't to do, Webb didn’t confirm nor deny anything, but cooed coyly, "Basta Edu is and will always be important and a part of my life."
Webb then urged for the press to stop speculating on her personal affairs. "I don't want to be in the news. And I hope that doesn't sound bad," she said.
"Ayaw ko lang kasing palakihin pa na kapag may nagsabi na ganito, kayong dalawa o nagpakasal kayong dalawa...ayaw ko nang sagutin kasi kapag sasagutin ko pa ay lalabas pa ako bukas [on the news]. Parang ganoon.
She further explained, "I think I've given myself to the public as much as I can pero 'yong personal ko, I really want it to be mine. Not because kinahihiya ko, walang ganoon. Kaya lang, ayaw ko lang pinag-uusapan 'yung ganoon."
